PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography Overview:
We take photos to document and tell the story of what God is doing in and through The House. We capture images that inspire growth, point people to Jesus and reflect the creativity of the Holy Spirit. Paraphrased: We capture what God is doing in our church to inspire and reach people in our world.
Photographer Role:
Your role is to capture the heart and atmosphere of our church through photography. You work with other photographers, producers and the social media team to make sure that all needed content is captured.
Photographer Expectations:
We are ON TIME
We are ONE TEAM
We go through the Belong Class
We attend a House Group/weekly gathering besides Sunday services
We are committed to creative & spiritual growth
Team Expectations:
Community:
Attend the Belong Class & a weekly gathering - We value relationships and being planted in a community. We do this firstly by attending the Belong Class (if you are above the age of 18). This will help you learn more about who we are, why we exist and is foundational to serving on any team at House of the Lord.
Timelines:
Planning Center & Time Requirements - We use Planning Center for all of our scheduling and communication. You have the ability to block out dates, confirm and decline availability and manage your profile. We do our best to schedule at least 1 month in advance and ask that you respond to all requests and treat your role as you would a job.
We ask that if you are a part of the photography team here at House of the Lord and serve on a Sunday that you:
Arrive by 8:15AM to set up the camera
Are a part of Team Huddle at 8:30AM before service
Serve 1 (or 2) services and attend 1 service
We also ask that you attend OUR church when you are not scheduled and do your best to be at any and all quarterly Worship Gatherings, quarterly Team Nights and other church events.
Excellence - Storytellers, Presets & Problem Solvers:
Being a photographer is more than just taking a photo; it’s telling a story. The story of our church. As photographers, we are privileged to capture the life and soul of our church. We are the first line to capture and share our church's life with Jesus to the world. We aim to show diversity of generations, engage the viewer as a participant and depict real people and real moments. Here are a few questions to ask yourself before as you shoot. Does it tell a story? What is this picture saying? Challenge yourself to shoot at different angles, capture moments in action and show the experience of a room.
The biggest thing about what we do is that it’s not about us; it’s about serving God and building the Kingdom. We utilize tools, presets and editing guidelines that help us be able to create a standard of excellence for our church regardless of skill level. We ask that you shoot, edit and stick to our presets and guidelines when shooting at The House and use these as a foundation to your creativity.
Lastly, we don’t create and complain about problems; we solve them. Sundays can be stressful as it is and we are looking for leaders who find solutions to problems and fill in the gaps. We ask that when you come in on a Sunday you are prayed up, full of faith, rested and ready to build something together.
We are a team, a family and we work together.
